  • Vladimir Putin
Vladimir Putin “In a broader sense, we are working to contribute to the development and prosperity of Russia and China by enhancing equal, mutually beneficial economic and humanitarian cooperation, and strengthen foreign policy coordination in the interests of building a just multipolar world order. All this is the key to a future success of our comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for the new era. The partnership between Russia and China is always based on equality and mutual trust, mutual respect for sovereignty, and consideration of each other's interests. President Xi Jinping, a wise and visionary leader, plays a special and prominent role in the development of bilateral relations. We first met back in March 2010, and we have been seeing and calling each other regularly ever since. President Xi maintains a respectful, friendly, open and at the same time business-like style of communication.” 3 hours ago
  • Yair Lapid
Yair Lapid “The government has lost control. Soldiers are being killed every day in Gaza and they fight among themselves on television. The cabinet is disassembled and non-functional. Ministers protest in front of cabinet meetings. One cabinet sends humanitarian aid convoys and the other burns them. Relations with the US are collapsing, the middle class is collapsing, they have lost the north. We can't go on like this. We will not win with this government.” 4 hours ago
  • Vladimir Putin
Vladimir Putin “We have said many times that whoever is quicker to master the newest means of armed combat wins. We have to be one step ahead. We have everything we need for this, and much has been done, but we need to double and triple our efforts in this area.” 9 hours ago
  • Alena Kudzko
Alena Kudzko “That is definitely not something that anybody in Slovakia expected. The country has been polarised over the past year amid heightened political tension, especially in the run-up to the elections. But nobody … called for violence in the country. Quite the opposite, everybody right now is trying to unite and send a coherent message, that political violence is not something that we support.” 9 hours ago

“I know my colleagues who were working out of occupied East Jerusalem have now stopped working out of there, and both Arabic and English channels have stopped broadcasting from there. The reason that those of us here in Ramallah and Gaza are still operating is because this is the occupied Palestinian territories. The Cabinet decision applies in Israel and Israel's domestic territory. To close Al Jazeera's operations in this part of the occupied West Bank, a military order from the governor would be required. That hasn't come yet. The network might be looking at some legal appeal, but it's a 45-day closure for now. It could be extended again, but it gives the Israeli authorities the right to seize Al Jazeera's broadcasting equipment and cut the channel from cable and satellite broadcasters. We know that's already happened in the last couple of hours in Israel; any operators that have been broadcasting Al Jazeera English or Arabic now have a sign on their screens saying they're no longer allowed to transmit and receive Al Jazeera.”

“All Israeli violations in the West Bank and East Jerusalem must also cease, and a political framework that leads to an end to the occupation must be reached. This framework must be based on a two-state solution, and this requires coordinating with Arab and regional powers as well as the international community, including the US and the European Union.”

“Israeli government is still unclear on the type of restrictions it will take in the Muslim holy month against worshippers trying to pray at Al-Aqsa Mosque. It's due to pressure from the more right-wing ministers who are calling for matters to be resolved with a firm hand. But the army knows that Ramadan is a powder keg that can lead to an explosive situation, especially with the ongoing war in Gaza. Netanyahu is looking to side with Smotrich and Ben-Gvir, who don't want to see any restrictions lifted during Ramadan, while the military is concerned about things spilling over in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.”

“We said that we are ready for this state to be demilitarised, and there can also be guarantees of forces, whether NATO forces, United Nations forces, or Arab or American forces, until we achieve security for both states, the nascent Palestinian state and the Israeli state. A political resolution which calls for a Palestinian state based on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital, has remained out of reach.”

“This is a humanitarian catastrophe that has proved the failure of the international community and the UN Security Council to put an end to Israel's gross violations of international humanitarian laws, and prove the dual standards adopted by the world. We are certain the only cause for peace is the end of the Israeli occupation and illegal settlements, and restoration of the established rights of the Palestinian people and the establishment of the state on 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
