  • Vladimir Putin
Vladimir Putin “In a broader sense, we are working to contribute to the development and prosperity of Russia and China by enhancing equal, mutually beneficial economic and humanitarian cooperation, and strengthen foreign policy coordination in the interests of building a just multipolar world order. All this is the key to a future success of our comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for the new era. The partnership between Russia and China is always based on equality and mutual trust, mutual respect for sovereignty, and consideration of each other's interests. President Xi Jinping, a wise and visionary leader, plays a special and prominent role in the development of bilateral relations. We first met back in March 2010, and we have been seeing and calling each other regularly ever since. President Xi maintains a respectful, friendly, open and at the same time business-like style of communication.” 12 minutes ago
  • Yair Lapid
Yair Lapid “The government has lost control. Soldiers are being killed every day in Gaza and they fight among themselves on television. The cabinet is disassembled and non-functional. Ministers protest in front of cabinet meetings. One cabinet sends humanitarian aid convoys and the other burns them. Relations with the US are collapsing, the middle class is collapsing, they have lost the north. We can't go on like this. We will not win with this government.” 1 hour ago
  • Vladimir Putin
Vladimir Putin “We have said many times that whoever is quicker to master the newest means of armed combat wins. We have to be one step ahead. We have everything we need for this, and much has been done, but we need to double and triple our efforts in this area.” 6 hours ago
  • Alena Kudzko
Alena Kudzko “That is definitely not something that anybody in Slovakia expected. The country has been polarised over the past year amid heightened political tension, especially in the run-up to the elections. But nobody … called for violence in the country. Quite the opposite, everybody right now is trying to unite and send a coherent message, that political violence is not something that we support.” 6 hours ago
  • Alexey Maslov
Alexey Maslov “We value the stability of Russia-China relations. The one word I can use to describe our relationship is 'trust.' That's very important because if you look at the cooperation with the Western countries, we don't have, and we have never had, mutual trust. But with China, we have a mutual trust. Our cooperation during the last two years developed very fast. The two countries could deepen cooperation in finance and banking, as well as in sci-tech and investment.” 23 hours ago
  • Cui Heng
Cui Heng “The world will pay attention to the meeting between the top leaders of the two countries to see how China-Russia relations can be promoted to a new height, as strategic ties between the two major powers will greatly affect the international arena.” 23 hours ago
  • Dmitry Peskov
Dmitry Peskov “We see an unveiled intervention in the internal affairs of Georgia from the outside. This is an internal matter of Georgia. We do not want to interfere there in any way.” 23 hours ago
  • Charles Michel
Charles Michel “If they want to join the EU, they have to respect the fundamental principles of the rule of law and the democratic principles.” 23 hours ago

“The goal of this exercise, this play, was mostly directed toward domestic public opinion. The army is strong if it has people who know how to handle equipment, especially if we're talking about equipment that was procured either from Russia or China, if it is professional and depoliticized - that is, it is not instrumentalized by politicians and political parties. On the other hand, the priorities of the citizens of Serbia are to have clean water and clean air, better health, [and] higher employment.”

“Anytime that Serbia is parading military equipment, this is always something that will make a lot of people very nervous, given the past. It's a very good opportunity for people in other countries who don't view Serbia in a particularly positive light to then use this as a chance to point the finger and say, 'Look, they haven't changed, they're still as militaristic as they were in the past. This is all about trying to flex their muscles and show their neighbors that they're still able to take back territory, and that's what they want'.”

“Lightning Strike was simply an excellent opportunity to check the operational capabilities of the command and units of the Serbian Army. It also showed how much was invested in equipping and arming our people.”
